Roger Schrimp, a senior shareholder of the Damrell firm and valued colleague and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2016. His intelligence and litigation skills earned the respect and admiration of the judiciary, his peers, and clients alike.
Mike Donohoe, a member of the firm’s estate planning section, spoke at the Stanislaus County Estate Planning Council’s Annual Fall Seminar on October 29, 2015, at Community Hospice in Modesto. Joined by renowned tax attorney and practitioner, John W. Prokey, Esq., Mr. Donohoe and Mr. Prokey discussed the current estate and gift tax issues facing clients in IRS tax controversies.
The firm is pleased to announce that Mike Donohoe has joined the firm’s estate planning section. Prior to joining the Damrell firm, Mr. Donohoe was an associate at Ramsbacher Prokey LLP in San Jose, where he advised high net-worth clients regarding family wealth planning and prepared estate plans designed to optimize clients’ tax benefits and preserve clients’ wealth. Mr. Donohoe has continued his practice in the areas of Trusts and Estates, Wealth Planning, Family Wealth Transfer, Business Succession Planning, Federal Estate and Gift Taxation Planning, Generation Skipping Tax, and Trust and Probate Administration.
Tyler Kelly, a native of Modesto, graduated from Johansen High School. He received his B.A. in Political Science from University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2008 and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, in 2012. Mr. Kelly was a member of the Hastings Intercollegiate Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, participating in several dispute resolution competitions, such as the International Academy of Dispute Resolution Mediation Tournament and the California Environmental Negotiation Competition. After law school, Mr. Kelly returned to his hometown and joined the Damrell firm. He currently practices in the areas of business litigation, civil litigation, and construction law.
Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Angela Schrimp practiced law in Sacramento for 19 years. She divides her time between the firm's Sacramento and Modesto offices. Ms. Schrimp has extensive experience representing businesses of all sizes in both litigation and transactional matters. She also represents clients in acquisitions, business dissolutions, business succession planning, real estate transactions and litigation, secured transactions, and private securities transactions.
