Born and raised in Modesto, Ms. McEwen began her education at Lakewood Elementary, and is a
graduate of Fred C. Beyer High School, class of 2009. Ms. McEwen currently calls Tuolumne County
home, where her family has lived for more than four generations.
During the 2016-2017 school year, Ms. McEwen received recognition for her legal writing skills as one of eight finalists for “Best Appellant’s Brief” for the Global Lawyering Skills II course. In the summer following her second year in law school, Ms. McEwen interned with the office of County Counsel, County of Tuolumne, where she participated in a variety of matters ranging from land use, to tax collection, to child dependency. While awaiting Bar results, Ms. McEwen interned with the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s office, where she participated in charging cases, and frequently observed misdemeanor court proceedings.
